Me and my friends were on the front row and by the end of 'once' we were singing along and all of the train ride home! We waited for diana to come out of the venu to get an autograph and a photo and then had to run to the station as we nearly missed the train home.
Looking at the picture with you I feel so lucky to have been that close to a super star who's music is utter genius! The album couldn't get any better! 'My Hip' is the best especially live when the trumpet is used! Wooop I love the album and can't wait to hear more in the future! All the best! Will deffo see u again! All i have is praise for Diana after listening to this album! There isn't a bad song on it, i LOVE them all! Songs
from the Tainted Cherry Tree has been well worth the wait and i'm SO proud to say that i've supported Diana from the very beginning and now she's producing this amazing, number 1 music! Number 1 album, HELL YEAH!!!!!
I'm already itching for the next! What can we expect from the Vickers?!?!Posted by RosiePaine about 3 months ago
I have to say though, the ballards on this debut are fantastic! Four Leaf Clover just makes me beam, such a sweet song! Put it Back Together again, not sure which this would be classed as, ballardy start, upbeat end, but wow, such a feel good song :D Me and You, some people hate it but i'm proud to say i'm not one of them, the lyrics are SO cheesey, but i LOVE cheese! N.U.M.B is easily my favourite ballard, makes me well up everytime, just getting in with the lyrics, such a WOW song, takes your breath away! Notice as well, so lovelyPosted by RosiePaine about 3 months ago
The song's AMAZING! Hit as well, such an unusual song but it works, this WHOLE album works!! :D Jumping into Rivers, i've had
it on replay constantly for the past 6 months or so, but i still can't get enough of it! And then Chasing You, wowPosted by RosiePaine about 3 months ago
Listening to Songs from the Tainted Cherry tree makes me want to scream in delight, then dance around the house in shear joy! Around 18 months i've patiently waited for Diana's debut album to be posted through my letter box, and wow, this is sure worth the wait!
My favourites on the album are easily the upbeat songs, the type of songs that i would never have expected diana to do but she just amazes me with them! The trilly vocals at the start of Remake Me and You make me, literaly, burst with pride, i LOVE it!! Then the chorus in The Boy Who Murdered Love, such an AMAZING choice for a second single :D You'll Never get to Heaven is the track on the album i am obsessed with at the moment (currently changes every week). This song is SO good, such a great vibe to it, and it's even better performed live, as Diana proved at Oxford and Scala! My Hip is another of my favourites, just makes me want to jiggle my hip, a bit awkward when you're sitting on your bed, but hey, i manage!Posted by RosiePaine about 3 months ago
Sooo back to the album, i was so excited to hear that she was releasing an album, as i love her music.
I would like to say that in my opinion the album is uterlly brilliant and has fantastic songs. I like the message in the song 'once' but my faverote overall song is "four leaf clover" because it is catchy, smooth and a brilliant song. The album is up to date, querky, quite classical and unique (in a good way).I would like to end by saying to diana vikers thankyou for creating such a fantastic album!Posted by AbbyField about 3 months ago
so i love it xPosted by lydz about 3 months ago
I regularly listened to Dianas rendition of with or without you and was intrigued by her vocals. When she finally made an album I was absoutely over the moon. I didn't know what to expect, but I knew it was going to be a sensational album, as with her voice anything can be sensational.
Even the album title 'songs from the tainted cherry tree' introduces the world into the wonderful world of Diana Vickers. Each song in the album has something different which makes it impossible to pick a favouite. They all have catchy melodies and lyrics especially 'I'm only gonna let you kill me once'. Not only is it quirky, it rings true to many people.
If I had to choose my personal favourite would be 'jumping into rivers' as I can never get it out of my head and when it comes on I just want to sing along.Posted by indieOcindy about 3 months ago
Once has already proved that Diana has the talent to become worldwide and with a deubt album like this Diana is sure to make it. The skys the limit for Diana!Posted by indieOcindy about 3 months ago
I ordered the album immediately and what a superb debut album it is. While poppy it has such a variety of musical styles helped by Diana working with some of musics great writers.
It took me a couple of listens to appreciate how great this album is and how much variety Diana has in her voice. This is an album which will appeal to lots of people. I would urge anyone who thinks this is regurgitated typical x factor fake r and b to give it a listen; you will be pleasantly surprised.Posted by cindyfan about 3 months ago
Jumping Into Rivers: By the time this album had come around I had already played this song to death! It is a GREAT summer song and I can't wait to listen to it whilst driving around or being lazy in the garden this summer. Great tune and different to most of the album! Overall rating: 10/10!
Chasing You: A great song to finish the album with, usually albums get weaker towards the end but not here. Love the chorus to this song. It starts stronger and just keeps gathering awesomeness! I love the little clicking noise at the end swell! Overall rating: 10/10!
Easily my favourite album of all time! Thank you Diana! Album overall rating: 1,000,000/1,000,000! !!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
Hit: A great little pop song! Not the best on the album but still great. I think it was a good choice to have a cover on the album and a great idea to have one that not many people know. It really allowed Diana to make the song her own without people making comparisons! Awesome! Overall rating: 9/10!
Notice: I love this song! It is a song that I think pretty much everyone can relate to! I also love the fact it was penned with Ellie Goulding, my two favourite artist's (Diana's number one of course!) working together, maybe we could have a duet one day…!!! Overall rating: 10/10Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
My Hip: The best part of this track has to be, the trumpet! Knowing that Diana's the one behind it make's it stand out even more. One of my favourite up tempo songs on the album. The lyrics are great and also very fun. A great tune! Overall rating: 10/10!
N.U.M.B: My absolute favourite song, not just from the album but off all time, from anything ever! It is such a beautiful and powerful song. It shows off everything I love about Diana and everything I was expecting and hoping for on the album. Her vocal's in the song are just amazing, simply.
I could talk all day, every day about this song but I won't, this review is already WAY longer than I intended and I still have four tracks left so, onto the next one. Overall Rating: 20/10!!!Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
Put It Back Together Again: Another son that has an amazing chorus! It has two lines I really love, one is the "One fresh second, one fresh minute, one fresh hour of my day" and the other is "I'm gunna tell you I love you one more time, again and again". Amazing. Overall rating: 10/10!
You'll Never Get To Heaven: Love, love, love this song. Brilliant from start to finish. A really great fun and happy song. I hope this is a single at some point, I really think/hope it will do great! Overall rating: 10/10!
Me & You: I love this song. It's a nice proper song, if that makes any sense at all! She clearly had someone in mind when creating this one. I love how calm it is and it's a really nice song to just, relax to! Brilliant and very different to everything else on the album! Overall rating: 10/10!Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
The Boy Who Murdered Love: Very happy to hear this is the second single as it has amazing chart potential.
How can this not hit number one? It has a great chorus and some awesome lines "You're a thief of innocence, you're a tainted cherry tree" just to name one. Overall rating: 10/10!
Four Leaf Clover: On the first listen of the album this single isn't much of a stand out however after a couple of listen's it became one of my favourite's. The lyrics are great and really involve you in the song. I love the Hope, Faith, Luck and Love line. Brilliant. I also love the acoustic version that came as a Once B-Side. Overall rating: 10/10!Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
Song's From The Tainted Cherry Tree is everything you would expect from the Vickers plus a whole lot more! I think it's best to take this one song at a time:
Once: A brilliantly catchy pop song and it made a wonderful launch single. I was so happy for Diana when this hit the top spot as she really deserved it. The chorus of this song gets jammed into your head for days, and that isn't a bad thing at all! When I first heard the 30 second preview a few months back I knew the album was going to be excellent and more than worth the wait! A great song to start her career and the album! Overall rating: 10/10!
Remake Me And You: Originally it was my least favourite of the album but as time has gone on and it has only grown and grown on me. I've gone from skipping it to jumping straight for it and it now has the highest play count on my iTunes of the entire album (played 73 times and counting!). I love how cooky and different it is! Overall rating: 10/10!Posted by Jake_Lambourne about 3 months ago
Ever heard of Diana Vickers? Yes that one who came forth, and performed barefoot? She was the one with the unique voice, and the claw. Imagine a voice like Dolores O'Riordan, Lisa Mitchell, Sinead O'Connor, but with an added twist. You thought she be shrouded in obscurity, and people seem to forget her? Well you're wrong, she is back with the top number 1 album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree. The title comes from a track called The Boy Who Murdered Love, and sorts paints an image on forbidden fruit, like Adam and Eve. A boy or girl, who is tainted, but is so wrong for you. Unlike Eoghan, Diana's label RCA gave Diana to progress, as a writer and performer. This is album which has been crafted, to take a year and a half. Diana has teamed on with artists such as Ellie Goulding, Narina Pallot, Cass Lowe, to producers such as Guy Sigsworth who does electro, Chris Braide who has worked with bands such as Westlife, S CLub 7, to solo stars such as Lee Ryan,Posted by TimHyder about 3 months ago
